We proudly source our produce from farms all over Michigan throughout the summer. When things are out of season here in our great state, we typically source from southern states with farms that share the same ideals as us!

Sustainability

We are constantly aiming to reduce our carbon footprint here at Michigan Local Harvest. On a daily basis, we reuse packaging as much as possible by reusing pulp pints and quarts for products that do not need them. We also shop with as many farmers that use reusable packaging over cardboard or plastic.

Typically in the agriculture industry, about 30% of produce is thrown away. Initially at Local Harvest we composted produce, but now we are proud to say we give all of our spoiled produce a second chance by using it to feed animals at a local farm that has goats and chickens. We also use as much of the produce we cannot sell in our jam, significantly cutting back on the amount of our produce waste that ends up in landfills.
